> A software engineering background
My path starts with a baccalaureate in computer science, obtained in 2012 with highest honors and already focused on programming. From 2012 to 2016, I then studied software engineering at university, at ISI. The program covered object-oriented programming, software architecture, advanced databases, computer security and mobile development.
These fundamentals are still the ones I use every day: designing a solid data model, splitting an application into clear layers and thinking about security from the start rather than at the end of a project.
> Hands-on internships
Two internships completed this education. In 2014, at Glinse, I trained in PHP and Laravel 4.2 by developing RESTful APIs and integrating third-party services. In 2015, at Tuninfo, I worked on web security, Linux system administration, PHP development with Symfony and penetration testing.
This dual perspective, developer and security, gave me good habits that I still keep: validate input, limit permissions, monitor servers and test your own applications the way an attacker would. In September 2016, I started my career as a web developer at Pixel Trade.
> Keep learning and giving back
Learning did not stop with the degree. Each position brought new technologies, from GraphQL to API Platform, Docker and continuous integration, and I write on this blog to share what I learn in production.
Outside of code, I take part in community work, with Amnesty International, a local development club and an environmental protection association. I also enjoy swimming, running, fishing and camping, which are good ways to step back from projects.
